Launceston General Hospital acknowledged for excellence
Tasmania's Launceston General Hospital has been recognised for its high quality of care.
The hospital has been awarded Australian Council on Health Care Standards ongoing accreditation until 2015.
Health Minister Michelle O'Byrne says it is the leading authority on health care.
"They have achieved seven outstanding excellence awards in the accreditation process that they just completed," she said.
"Every four years we need to go through this process, it's been happening since around 1983 and it is wonderful that their continuous improvement program, which they're always undertaking, has been recognised in such a way."
