The CEO and an executive of the Australian College of Nursing (ACN) have reportedly been sacked over alleged “financial irregularities”.

The ACN Board has indicated that the issues involved both executives, who allegedly took actions against established policies, delegations, and ethical standards of the ACN.

The ABC says more specific details have not been made public.

Interim CEO, Emeritus Professor Leanne Boyd, will continue to head the ACN until a permanent replacement is found.

The ACN is a not-for-profit professional organisation supporting the education and leadership of Australia's nurses, with 150,000 members and a revenue of nearly $23 million in its latest financial report.
