About us

The Postgraduate Medical Education Unit manages the development, implementation and evaluation of training and professional development of junior medical staff.

The Medical Education team are committed to providing excellent quality education and support to junior medical staff, ensuring all educational activities align with best practice initiatives and organisational priorities.

The Medical Education team are responsible for ensuring that accreditation standards for the education, training and welfare of Junior Medical Staff are met.

About the role

As Medical Education Officer (MEO), you will provide high level medical education support to the Postgraduate Medical Education Unit at Alfred Health, facilitating the continuing education of medical staff at Alfred Health. You will assist the Learning and Development Manager and liaise with and support the Director of Prevocational Medical Education (DPME), Director of Clinical Training (DCT) and Supervisor of Intern Training (SIT).

You will assist the Learning and Development Manager in maintaining accreditation standards and continuously improving education and training for junior medical staff. You will work closely with staff within Medical Education, Medical Workforce and Medical Services, as well as clinical supervisors and junior doctors.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in administrative, educational, or event coordination roles.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team working towards a common objective     
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with and willingness to learn new online learning environments (e.g. Learning Management Systems) and related learning technologies (e.g. e-learning, digital applications)
  • Solid general IT knowledge.
  • Willingness to learn new skills
