About the Role

The Head of EMR Technology- SVHM will be responsible for the planning, design and implementation of the technical environment required to support a large-scale EMR at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne. You will lead a team of experts who will support in the management the SVHM EMR Program technical stream.

Areas of responsibility include:

  • Planning, design and implementation of required IT infrastructure
  • Identification, acquisition and implementation of hardware including point of care devices
  • Integration architecture including developing the overall solution architecture for EMR and SVHM supporting applications
  • Development and execution of the EMR data migration strategy
  • Development of Business Continuity Processes in relation to the technical landscape of the EMR

Salary for this position will be negotiable based on experience.

Your Contribution

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or relevant field
  • A minimum of 5 years working as a Project Manager in healthcare IT
  • A sound understanding of HL7 integration
  • A sound understanding of underlying platform technologies including Citrix and Active Directory
  • A sound understanding of IT infrastructure in a healthcare setting
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of different experts with multiple deliverables
  • Ability to work on premise
  • Strong inter-personal skills with demonstrated success in leading a large team
  • Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

About the SVHM EMR Program
St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne (SVHM) have committed to the implementation of a new Electronic Medical Record as part of their digital transformation journey. Harnessing the power of a longitudinal patient record, the SVHM EMR program aims to deliver a comprehensive digital patient record across the ambulatory and inpatient areas of our health service.

Commencing in January 2024, the SVHM EMR program will be coordinated by a team of clinicians, health informaticians and technology experts. The SVHM EMR Team will be responsible for designing, building and implementing the new EMR in collaboration with our patients and staff.

The target completion of this project is 2026.
