Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor

 

About the role:

It’s an exciting time to join Box Hill Institute as we celebrate our 100 years in 2024 and are growing our wonderful HSW team!

We are looking for an experienced Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) Advisor to join us in this exciting and highly rewarding ongoing opportunity!

As an experienced HSW Advisor, within this role you will provide advice, guidance and support within Box Hill Institute (BHI) to drive increased safety engagement, continuous improvement and compliance. As part of the HSW team you will focus on continuous improvement and championing HSW projects with BHI stakeholders.

Your role will also see you responsible for leading investigations based on ICAM methodology, coordinating safety audits and risk assessments in operational areas, establishing HSW risk profiles of areas and identifying trends as well as proactive case management of RTW and Wellbeing cases; supporting employees and operational needs.

In addition, you will play a vital role in our emergency management in ensuring awareness, engagement and participation in training as part of our continuous improvement program, as well as having the opportunity to develop content and deliver HSW training across the organisation.

About You:

  • Relevant qualifications and demonstrated experience within a similar role; ideally across multiple industries
  • Experience in the interpretation of safety legislation and the development and implementation of policies and procedures, including coordinating consultation
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex concepts in a simple and effective manner
  • Demonstrated generalist experience in health, safety and wellbeing in an advisory/partnering role
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills with individuals and larger groups
  • Current up-to-date knowledge of health and safety legislation, codes of practice, Australia standards, risk management, ergonomics, safety management systems & workers compensation
  • ]Practical experience in the development and delivery of OHS hazards and risk mitigation strategies
  • Authentic and professional approach with exceptional stakeholder management skills
