The Perron Institute for Neurological and Translational Science is an eminent WA not-for-profit medical research institute located on the QEII Medical Centre campus, Nedlands. We undertake cutting edge research on a wide range of neurological disorders and conduct specialist treatment clinics. About the Role
The Research Administrator is responsible for providing high level administrative support to the Research Strategy and Support Team. This role will see the successful candidate working independently under the guidance of the Research Team members to maintain and manage data, prepare reports and support research-related events in addition to general administrative tasks.

Candidates with relevant tertiary qualifications coupled with administrative experience within an academic context will be well-suited to this role. The ability to demonstrate an understanding of the clinical research landscape will be looked upon favourably.

This role is offered on a part time (0.8 FTE) 12-month fixed term basis, with the possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Research, Research Development Manager, EMCR Coordinator and Chair of the Research Advisory Committee
  • Prepare and analyse reports for the Research Strategy Committee and Board
  • Planning and coordination of Research Support and Strategy team events and meetings
  • Maintenance and management of databases, reports, mailboxes and filing systems
  • Document creation and preparation including meeting minutes, agendas, guidelines and procedures
  • Other administrative duties as requested by the Director of Research

About You
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • Tertiary or Post Graduate qualifications in a Scientific, Health/Medical or Project Management discipline or significant relevant professional experience
  • Previous experience in an Administration role within an academic context
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of research database, publication, communication, and management platforms (ex. REDCap, Scopus, Survey software).
  • Strong organisational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and negotiate competing priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively work with stakeholders at all levels
  • Good IT skills and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
