What you'll be doing
To provide assistance in the management of the SCHN Data Communications Network. Planning, design, supporting, installing and maintaining the Network’s data communications network and associated equipment.
During your employment you may be required to work at different locations and departments within the network and should this occur, adequate notice will be provided.
  1. Cisco Routing & Switching & Wireless Certification and demonstrated experience as a network administrator in a Cisco environment in a medium to large commercial environment.
  2. Demonstrated, recent experience in configuration and installation of CISCO switches including future release models, VSS and Cisco Workgroup switches.
  3. Demonstrated, recent experience in configuration and installation of Cisco switches including ASR, 6500, VSS and Cisco Workgroup switches.
  4. Demonstrated, recent experience in using Cisco Prime Infrastructure and MSE and experience in Cisco Identity Service Engine.
  5. Extensive experience in administration and supporting NetScaler and Clearpass services. Familiarity with F5 modules e.g. ASM and LTM and some experience in Cisco ASA with FirePower services or any other firewall will be highly regarded.
  6. Exceptional customer service orientation - always maintains and displays a strong customer focus in activities; able to liaise with and identify client needs and ensure a result to clients' requests; able to get along with clients and to quickly build a rapport.
  7. Good verbal and written communication skills - excellent fact finding skills to gather client requirements, and the ability to write user friendly documentation; the ability to technically translate IT concepts and issues for clients.
  8. Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to work without constant supervision - includes the ability to plan and achieve a variety of tasks; able to prioritise client requests and deal with a number of issues concurrently; good problem solving skills - the ability to identify problems and their cause and develop solutions to meet client needs.
