What you'll be doing
The Nurse Manager Workforce position is responsible for supporting the Director of Nursing in the managing and monitoring of the Mental Health nursing and administrative workforce including the facilitation of the Nursing Workforce Strategy.

The position provides a key leadership role in the development, implementation and evaluation of initiatives and strategies relating to the mental health nursing and administrative workforce including workforce planning, recruitment, retention, and management of the casual pool, professional development, and performance management. The position will have a focus on the monitoring of nursing minimum staffing requirements, rostering requirements, and the ongoing development of a robust workforce initiative. The position will work with internal and external key stakeholders that are integral to the Nursing and administrative workforce.

Essential Criteria: 

  • Registration:  Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Selection Criteria:

  1. Demonstrated management and leadership in the health sector with appropriate post graduate qualifications and/or work experience deemed appropriate by the employer.
  2. Demonstrated high level leadership within the workplace including the ability to form productive working relationships through high level communication, negotiation and facilitation and conflict resolution skills.
  3. Demonstrated high level project and change management skills and the ability to use diagnostic tools and interventions including information and technology platforms.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of roster creation and management skills, including recruitment management and experience, and knowledge of workforce systems within health.
  5. Extensive understanding in the use of HealthRoster, Recruitment and Onboarding (ROB) and Stafflink.
  6. Demonstrated commitment to own professional development in areas prevalent to health management and leadership.
  7. Sound knowledge of the NSW Public System Nurses’ and Midwives State Award 2023 and Rostering Best Practice principles, and relevant policies.
  8. Current and valid unrestricted NSW Class C Drivers Licence and a willingness to travel as required in role
