Donor Support Coordinator

We are part of a global network of donor registries, managing processes that match potential lifesaving donors with patients suffering from blood cancer and other life-threatening conditions. As a Donor Support Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting our volunteer blood stem cell donors, helping them through the process of potentially saving a life. You will act as the liaison between donors, collection hospitals and all relevant stakeholders to help facilitate potential life-saving blood stem cell transplants. 

The ideal candidate is personable, organised, and adaptable, with excellent administrative and multitasking abilities. You will receive full training and support and will work with an excellent team, who are passionate about saving lives and looking after our amazing volunteer donors. 

Key Responsibilities

What would a typical day look like?

You might be:

  • Contacting donors to deliver the good news that they’ve been identified as a potential match and confirm their willingness to donate
  •  Organising further testing and documenting donor health assessments for medical review 
  • Case managing donation requests with specialist collection hospitals, ensuring all necessary requirements are met
  • Checking in with donors post-donation to ensure a smooth recovery process  

What we’re looking for

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Strong organisational skills to efficiently manage caseloads and prioritise tasks.
  • Proficiency in office applications and experience working with CRM databases 
  • Previous experience in office administration, providing high-level customer service and maintaining confidentiality.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent attention to detail, especially in data management
