About the Role
  
At LifeFlight, we are committed to delivering exceptional Aeromedical Retrieval Services across Queensland. Our focus on clinical research, particularly in Prehospital Care and Retrieval, is key to our mission of continuous quality improvement and patient-focused care. We are seeking a Part-Time (0.50 FTE) Clinical Research Coordinator who shares our commitment to innovation and excellence in aeromedical research.
  
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for:

  • Regularly reporting and collaborating with the Quality Improvement Consultant to establish research agendas.
  • Evaluating audit quality improvement projects for their potential to evolve into research projects and published papers.
  • Prioritizing clinical research topics, with a focus on Prehospital Care and Retrieval Medicine.
  • Liaising with LifeFlight Medical Clinicians to identify and strategise research opportunities.
  • Assisting in the preparation and submission of ethics approvals, clinical governance documents, and research grant applications.
  • Extracting, preparing, and analysing data on aeromedical retrieval topics for research purposes.
  • Supporting the preparation, editing, and submission of manuscripts to aeromedical journals.
  • Assisting in presenting research findings at aeromedical conferences.
  • Collaborating with other retrieval services and Queensland Health on multidisciplinary research projects.  

As the Clinical Research Coordinator, you will also:

  • Contribute to the development and progression of LifeFlight’s research strategy.
  • Identify key topics and areas for clinical research within Prehospital Care and Retrieval.
  • Collaborate with external research groups to enhance research activities.
  • Extract data from clinical databases and support statistical analysis.
  • Ensure that all research undertaken adheres to high ethical standards and promotes good clinical practice.  

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Paramedicine.
  • Proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, coordinating, and implementing medical research.
  • Knowledge of medical research grants, ethics approval processes, and manuscript development.
  • Strong communication skills and a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with external agencies.
  • Postgraduate qualification in research (desirable).
  • Clinical experience in the Aeromedical Retrieval Environment (highly regarded).
