Senior Researcher

  • Temporary Full-Time until August 2025
  • Located in Parramatta with flexible working arrangements available
  • Salary: $149,631. Package includes salary ($120,859 - $133,183), employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.

About the role

The position will undertake quantitative and qualitative research in the VET sector, including survey design, analysis and reporting of insights across the Department and agency partners to inform policy decisions and program outcomes. Further, it will provide support and capability building to other teams seeking to undertake surveys and will lead critical ongoing qualitative research with employers and industry.

About you

  • Ability to Lead the design, implementation and delivery of quantitative and qualitative research projects
  • Prepare quality evidence-based submissions, reports, briefings and other correspondence in a timely fashion to support the effective operations of the Department
  • Establish collaborative and productive relationships with team members and stakeholders working on joint projects to achieve agreed objectives
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

  • Tertiary qualifications in economics, social science, psychology, epidemiology, biostatistics or a related field, or relevant professional experience in quantitative and qualitative outcome evaluation
  • Proficiency in statistical or analytical software such as Q or other like programs
  • Proficiency in survey development tools such as Qualtrics, Medallia etc
  • Proficiency in questionnaire design data visualisation and insights reporting
  • A valid Working with Children Check for paid employment 
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
