About the role
We are seeking Laboratory Assistant/s to join our dedicated laboratory team within (Haematology Department at Osborne Park, Western Australia). In this role, the successful applicant will be responsible for specimen reception, preparation of specimens for analysis, customer service, referral of specimens to tertiary laboratories and maintenance of instrumentation and equipment and compliance with accreditation and quality assurance requirements.
The position will be:
- Part Time
- Day, Evening and weekend work
- Located in Haematology Department at Osborne Park
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure that all company WH&S requirements are observed
- Maintain a high quality, team focused, accurate and efficient work environment
- Ensure the separation and triage of samples according to the priority of order, to facilitate the quick processing of specimens and delivery to our courier
- The ability to prioritise specimens through interpretation of referrals and clinical notes
- The ability to determine the correct sample requirements for the tests requested
- Excellent communication skills in dealing with internal and external clients
- Maintain and initiate excellent customer service skills at all times
- Display a courteous and responsive phone manner
To be considered for this role you will need to process the following:
- Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques, or be studying for this as minimum
- High attention to detail and experience working in a fast paced environment
- An enthusiastic and flexible approach to work
- Ability to multitask and successfully work as part of a team
- Exceptional time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- The ability to contribute towards the delivery of customer focused services
- Excellent communication skills
- Available to work as flexible roster, including weekends.
